ME WEARING SOMEONE I DONT KNOWS' CLOTHES.

I always like to have a few shots of espresso before heading into a vintage store. Something to get me all fired up to dig through stuffed racks of retro goods and search for something that I can work with. Usually after I enter I become a different me. All of a sudden Im picking out granny tops and ill fitted dresses and thinking of all the ways i could wear it only to get home and have it sit in my closet for the next 6 months reeking of moth balls.
When going to vintage stores sometimes it is hard to distinguish the good finds from the not so. Also the prices can be a little outrageous. I get it an authentic 20's gown maybe worth a high price, but $45 for some trashy t-shirt? no thanks.
This weekend I ventured to williamsburg Brooklyn, a city consumed in vintage.
best spot...BEACONS CLOSET. A place where Nylon magazine readers unite! It is filled with brands old and new, high fashion designers and no-name vintage. All of it at a low price. Walking into this store is overwhelming. There are 100s of fashionistas running around the many densely packed rolling racks jammed all across the store. But, there is so much inventory in the store its easy to fill your hands with 30 hangers of wonderful items. I personally thought my arm was going to fall off while i was waiting in the fitting room line.
This store is def. not boyfriend friendly. Its easy to lose track of time and spend hours in here. Leave em at home unless hes just as obsessed with vintage as you or willing to carry your finds.

I have always loved dirty rocker tees. This one came with holes and paint stains. I love it. I cant wait to set it off with a skirt, tights or belt.

I am such a fan of heatherette I had to buy this tiny baby doll tee. I love the graphic on it, it reminds me of a 90's kids shirt. I picture wearing it in the summer with light denim ripped up shorts. $6
