RISKY BIZ

In 8th grade me and my two best friends would show up at school wearing jean skirts, nonsense graphic t-shirts, ties, miss matched knee socks, converse with purple n pink laces, and anything else that would make people go "wtf". We were the laughing stock of junior high. We loved the attention.
To this day, I have kept my adoration for obscure and risky clothing, but I now think the best way to pull this off is through being original without being a joke. Standing out while still looking effortless and pulling of the attitude of "I dont care". Since moving to NYC, I see people in the weirdest most I dont care outfits that look so absolutley amazing. Trends are somewhat inevitable, but it's always important to be innovative and not carry on too many trends to the point where you look cliche. Even looking weird has become a trend, I hate overdone weirdness- where you are wearing so much vintage you look homeless. Its not original to me.
On the opposite side of the spectrum...overly sex-ed up outfits are something I stear clear of as well. I love wearing tights with long tops or tight fitted jeans and chunky shoes... there are so many ways to look sexy without being obnoxious, like n mushing ur boobs together in a tiny bubble dress or tank n booty shorts. ickk.
Think about dressing for you! Not for the dude in the bar. Not for fitting in, but for your own personal runway. Everyday can be a walk down 5th avenue wherever you are. Does this mean everyday you need to be in stilletos? No. This just means you should make every day count! Try something new and take a risk. Throw a nice faux fur or metallic coat over your sweat pants when you get your starbucks in the morning. Wear a nice pair of aviators with everything and in any type of weather. Ive learned that it can make any look more casual, careless, sexy and undone. Wear ripped up jeans with a ruffled blouse. Wear Combat boots with socks hanging out the top to the club in your party dress. Wear your boyfriends jeans with a corset top. Wear sequins with an army combat coat. Wear over the knee ho boots with a vintage granny sweater!! Do the unexpected. Just dont over do it. Put two things that absolutly dont work together and make it work. I will congratulate you and kiss your face. Make ugly hot! I am obsessed.
